RES4LIVE’s People: Thanos Balafoutis!

I am Thanos Balafoutis, a Researcher at the Institute for Bio-economy and Agri-technology in Thessaloniki, Greece. My research interests focus on the following: (a) Precision Agriculture with emphasis on the application of variable rate input techniques to high value crops for the purpose of qualitative and quantitative improvement of production; (b) production and use of biomass for energy production to meet energy needs at farm or remote settlement level. In RES4LIVE, my team will focus on the assessment of on-farm energy demand and available renewable energy potential in EU agriculture with specific interest on the livestock subsector.
