Hi! I am Petros Demissie Tegenaw. I was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and graduated from mechanical engineering department of Addis Ababa University in 2013. In 2013/14, I served Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU) as assistant lecturer under department of electromechanical engineering. In 2016, I obtained my master’s degree in electromechanical engineering from KU Leuven (Belgium). I served AASTU as lecturer under department of electromechanical engineering and started my PhD study in KU Leuven Faculty of Engineering Technology in September 2017. I worked as a research engineer and a teaching assistant until end of 2021 at KU Leuven. My PhD research was focused on experimental analysis and macro-scale numerical modeling of a novel solar powered food dehydrator. Now, I am working for the Flanders research institute for agriculture, fisheries and food (ILVO) in Merelbeke, Belgium- as a scientific researcher. I am a multi-disciplinary engineer by training and by practice with a special interest in renewable energy sources and their technological sustainability. In RES4LIVE project, I will be managing the implementation of selected renewable energy technologies on the demo farm of ILVO with Jarissa Maselyne.
